The inaugural SADC First Ladies Forum on Environment will launch on August 17th, 2024, in Harare, Zimbabwe, during the 44th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit. This high-level breakfast meeting will be followed by a visit to the Geo-Pomona Waste Management Site, showcasing innovative waste solutions. 

Recognizing the critical role of mothers in nurturing life, the Forum unites SADC First Ladies to champion environmental stewardship. By harnessing their collective influence, the Forum aims to drive a regional movement addressing climate changebiodiversity loss, and pollution.

This platform will catalyze transformative action, mobilizing political will and public support for environmental conservation and restoration. From overseeing vital resources to spearheading initiatives like Zero Waste Management, the First Ladies will be at the forefront of building a sustainable future. 

Through collaboration with the Southern Africa Regional Youth Environment Network, the Forum will empower young leaders to co-create innovative solutions, ensuring a legacy of environmental protection for generations to come.
