• Overview

The 21st Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF 20) will take place on 06–07 December 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. It will follow a preparatory global online consultation among major groups and stakeholders, as well as the Regional Consultative Meetings (RCMs).

GMGSF 21 will provide an open and participatory platform for civil society engagement and will serve as the preparatory meeting for Major Groups and Stakeholders ahead of the 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7). The theme for UNEA-7 will be “Advancing Sustainable Solutions for a Resilient Planet.”

GMGSF 21 will offer an opportunity for representatives from Major Groups and Stakeholders accredited to UNEP to prepare positions, statements, and inputs for the UNEA-7 process, including formal meetings and negotiations under the Assembly. As a self-organized meeting, the Forum will also be open to non-accredited stakeholders. It will enable stakeholder representatives to exchange views among themselves and with representatives from the UNEP Secretariat and interested Member States.

The GMGSF will be self-organized by Major Groups and Stakeholders, with facilitation and support from the Major Groups and Facilitating Committee (MGFC).
