Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health and development threat that requires immediate and unified action across all sectors.

In response to the commitments made by UN Member States in the UNGA Political Declaration on AMR (September 2024, New York), the Quadripartite organizations (FAO, UNEP, WHO, and WOAH) are advancing two critical initiatives:

  • the establishment of the Independent Panel on Evidence for Action Against AMR (IPEA) and
  • the update of the Global Action Plan on AMR (GAP).

This information session will provide an opportunity to hear directly from the Quadripartite Joint Secretariat (QJS) about the two roadmaps, including key phases, expected outcomes, and timelines.

The session will also outline how stakeholders can be actively engaged throughout these processes and contribute their expertise to ensure broad and inclusive participation.
