First Indigenous Knowledge and Local Knowledge Dialogue to support the preparation of the GEO-7 assessment

The First Indigenous Knowledge (IK) and Local Knowledge (LK) Dialogue to support the preparation of the GEO-7 assessment is scheduled to take place virtually from 25 to 27 March 2024. The IK and LK taskforce members, GEO-7 Co-chairs and authors of the assessment will work with Indigenous Peoples, including Youth, Elders and representatives of Indigenous Organizations to discuss their conceptualizations of the issues presented in the draft chapters of the GEO-7 report.

The outcomes of the dialogue will be used to include an Indigenous perspective in the second-order draft of the GEO-7, which will be sent for the Intergovernmental and expert review in October and November 2024.  

This meeting will be conducted in English with simultaneous Spanish interpretation.
