UNEP, UNEP CCS, UN Women and Zero Waste in the Caribbean: New ways, new Waves are organizing the webinar Gender perspective and experience on climate change and waste in the Caribbean.   Women play a vital role in the transformation of society, in that sense their role in climate action is one of the crucial issues not only in the Caribbean moreover around the World.

Highlighting positive examples of daily commitments of women to the environment, and more specifically in tackling waste and fighting climate change by sharing their professional journey in the Caribbean and featuring how their work is supporting the circular economy and Global Goals can be very important.

The main objective of the webinar is to support the acceleration of Equality and Empowerment and to show how women's leadership and collective action can make a difference for their related communities and the environment in the Caribbean.

The webinar will share the story and the expertise of the panelists to inspire not only activists and young women moreover the civil society, institutions, organizations, and the general audience in order to:

• Sharing positive examples of gender equality in the Caribbean • Inspiring a new generation of young Caribbean women • Creating awareness of waste management and climate change among youth in the Caribbean   • Fostering the concept of how women can be protagonists and can have a positive impact in tackling pollution in the Caribbean
