UNEP's groundbreaking ACCESS project took a significant leap forward on September 3, 2024, as its Steering Committee convened for its inaugural meeting. The committee, comprising consortium members and country representatives, laid the groundwork for transforming urban mobility across Latin America.

In a vibrant exchange of ideas, participants outlined strategies for implementing activities at local, national, and regional levels. The meeting set the stage for a series of targeted working group sessions, with a primary focus on designing innovative city demonstration projects.

Simultaneously, the Regional Community of Practice is gearing up to launch its Thematic Working group. A series of dynamic workshops planned throughout 2024 will serve as a catalyst for knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.

This milestone meeting marks the beginning of the ACCESS journey to revolutionize urban transportation, promising cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable cities across Latin America.
