Robusta Coffee production in Viet Nam has an average annual turnover around US$3 billion each year, accounting for over 10% of the Viet Nam’s agricultural exports. However, with changes predicted in the future suitability of growing areas on a global scale, coffee production in Viet Nam is increasingly at risk from Climate Change and unsustainable production practices while driving further deforestation.

In order for the sector to survive, it is critical that production models are adapted; increasing resilience against climate change and providing economic certainty to small holder producers.

This webinar will explore the business case for sustainable coffee production in Viet Nam, asking the questions:

  • What are the options for small holder producers?
  • What are the innovative supply chain models that are being proposed?
  • Can sustainable coffee production generate comparable risk return ratios?
  • What are the agricultural risks and how can they be managed?
  • How can we increase the uptake of these innovations in Robusta supply chains?
