WUF13 ONE UN Roundtable | Organised by UN-Habitat & DCO
About the Event
WUF13 is organised jointly with the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the theme “Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities.” Since 2020, UN-Habitat, together with the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO), has hosted the One UN Roundtable as part of the Forum, bringing together the UN Development System and key partners to discuss critical urban issues. This year’s roundtable will focus on adequate housing as a cross-cutting enabler for SDG acceleration.
The session aims to advance a shared UN system and partner approach to adequate housing as a catalyst for SDG acceleration, with emphasis on multilevel cooperation, interagency collaboration, and the integration of housing priorities within national development frameworks. It will examine how the UN, under Resident Coordinator (RC) leadership, is operationalising multilevel and interagency cooperation to advance housing and resilient communities, and identify opportunities to strengthen coordinated UN support at country and city levels.
The Roundtable will in particular: reaffirm adequate housing as a cross-cutting enabler for accelerating progress across the SDGs; share practical experiences and examples of financing approaches and partnerships that can help scale housing and urban solutions; and generate joint recommendations for strengthened coordinated action on housing and urban development across the UN system.
