Join this webinar to learn how you can get involved in “50 Cities at 50°C,” UNEP’s global activation for World Environment Day 2026.
Extreme heat is becoming one of the fastest-rising risks for cities worldwide, with many urban areas already nearing – or soon facing – 50°Cequivalent conditions that threaten health, infrastructure, and daily life. But cities are also leading the charge with innovative, scalable solutions.
“50 Cities at 50°C” is a flagship effort under the Beat the Heat Implementation Drive, designed to create a high-visibility global moment that accelerates action, spotlights progress, and elevates the leadership of cities on the frontlines of extreme heat.
The activation will unite 50 diverse cities to demonstrate how urban areas are adapting to rising temperatures, implementing sustainable cooling solutions, and mobilizing communities. It supports both cities already experiencing 50°Cequivalent impacts and those preparing now to strengthen resilience before extremes arrive.
Join us to understand the activation, explore opportunities for your city, and learn how you can play an active role in this global movement to beat the heat.
