This is an official side-event to the Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week 2023.

The private sector has a key role to play in meeting the NDCs. Its active and engaged participation is essential to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and achieve the goals set out in the Paris Agreement. While governments play an essential role in defining policies and regulatory frameworks, the private sector has the power to be a key catalyst for the effective implementation of these goals.

This event will explore the crucial role that the private sector plays in driving the achievement of the climate goals in the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as in increasing climate ambition. It will also discuss the main challenges and opportunities for the implementation of 2050 roadmaps and Long-Term Strategies (LTS) for climate action (mitigation and adaptation). Finally, it will explore innovative solutions and best practices that are already having a positive impact in the region to provide participants with a comprehensive view of how the private sector can become an indispensable ally in achieving national and international climate goals.
