Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action – First Interim Meeting

The First Interim Meeting of the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action provided an update on the status and operationalization of the initiative, and presented the work programme, including its three main work packages:

1. Global advocacy and coordination to scale up water for climate action, promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, and implementation through partnerships (led by UNEP);
2. Strengthening the generation of scientific evidence on the causes and impacts of climate change on water resources, basins, and water-related ecosystems (led by WMO);
3. Enhancing water-related climate policy actions (led by UNECE).

The meeting also served as a platform for Parties and stakeholders to provide feedback and discuss efforts on water for climate action, including the envisioned outcome for COP30.
