Title: Financing Green Buildings at scale: What role for development banks, public and private finance? (INVITE-ONLY)

Date: 23 September 2025

Time: 12:30-14:00 (EDT)

Location: The Glasshouse, 660 12th Ave, New York, NY 10019 (5th floor, room Reef)

About the Event:

At Climate Week NYC’s Executive Series, UNEP-hosted Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) and Partnership for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB) are convening governments, development banks, and financial leaders to unlock solutions for financing sustainable buildings at scale.

 The roundtable will:

• Share strategies and experiences from financial institutions on growing green and resilient building portfolios.

• Identify financing needs, capacity gaps, and institutional barriers that must be addressed to channel resources toward low-carbon, climate-resilient housing.

• Create space for finance leaders to raise policy concerns and priority issues directly with policymakers, shaping the proposed GlobalABC Belém Call for Action on low-carbon affordable housing.

This builds on GlobalABC and PEEB’s long-standing collaboration to support governments with tools and strategies, such as the NDCs for Buildings guide, which offers a practical 5-step approach for designing ambitious, actionable climate plans.

Stay tuned for highlights and outcomes of the roundtable, and what this means for the future of climate and buildings.
