First Face to Face Meeting of the Multidisciplinary Expert Scientific Advisory Group (MESAG)

The First Face to Face Meeting of the Multidisciplinary Expert Scientific Advisory Group (MESAG) of GEO-7 will take place at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) on  Rajdamnern Nok Avenue in Bangkok, Thailand from 14-16 March 2023.

Meeting objectives:

1. Process for development and approval of MESAG’s proposed work plan.
2. Discuss and provide advice on the appropriate scientific integrity of the GEO process.
3. Provide scientific oversight and advice on additional authors and the selection of fellows and review editors.
4. Discuss and advise methods to ensure the scientific credibility of the GEO assessment.
5. Discuss the procedure of issuing a final opinion of the GEO process to UNEPs Chief Scientist.
6. Discuss the development and implementation of the multi-year work plan and programme of activities.
