This event is organized in the framework of the UN-Water expert group on climate change and water, co-coordinated by UNESCO, WMO and UNECE, and in cooperation with Azerbaijan, UNEP and WMO as partners under the Baku Dialogue as well as with Arizona State University, Association of Sustainable Ecological Engineering Development and India Water Foundation. The event will:
- Serve as a platform to connect water and climate colleagues and to support countries in including and subsequently implementing water-related measures in NDCs and NAPs, one of the priorities of the UN-system wide strategy on water and sanitation;
- Contribute to the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action providing an opportunity to exchange experience among the countries which already endorsed the COP29 Declaration on Water for Climate Action and to encourage other countries to endorse it and to join the Baku Dialogue.
