The high-level officers of the Ministries of the Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean are summoned to a preparatory meeting on a special session to be held in January to mark the 40^th anniversary of the Forum, and the second session of the Fifth UN Environment Assembly (UNEA 5.2), which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, in March 2022.

The meeting will include a follow-up to the decisions of the XXII Meeting of the Forum of Ministers and will discuss recommendations and plans on marine litter and microplastics, and air quality.

The Executive Committee of the Regional Council of Experts on Sustainable Consumption and Production for the period 2021-2022 will also be presented for approval.
