Watch: recording of side event

Building on the launch of UNEP’s flagship report, the 7th edition of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7), taking place on the morning of the 9th of December 2025, this side event will allow representatives of Member States and stakeholders, including policymakers, assessment experts, and Indigenous People’s leaders, to get together to discuss how they can work together to find solutions necessary to tackle the interconnected global environmental crises and achieve environmental sustainability for people and a resilient planet. Participants will explore how whole-of-society and whole-of-government approaches can identify solutions to environmental challenges across key systems, including the economy and finance, materials and waste, energy, and food. Through dialogue and real-world success stories from national and local contexts, the event will highlight how evidence-based policies and Indigenous Knowledge and Local Knowledge can guide change in everyday practices and decision-making to build a healthier environment and a more resilient future for all.
