The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) represents a strategic investment by the Adaptation Fund to accelerate the development, deployment and scaling of innovative adaptation solutions in particularly vulnerable countries, notably Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). It places a strong emphasis on innovation, learning and collaboration across a diverse set of Implementing Entities and delivery partners.
The first phase of the Programme was implemented by UNEP through the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and UNDP, with support from the Adaptation Fund and EU funding. Programme closure was followed up by a two-volume Impact Report.
Purpose of the Webinar/Launch
The webinar aims to officially launch the AFCIA Impact Report, Volumes 1 and 2, present high-level programme results, reinforce AFCIA’s commitment to innovation and locally led adaptation, and showcase concrete grantee impacts across key thematic areas highlighted in the report.
This event is open to all. We would be delighted if professionals working with adaptation issues would join us to learn more about the AFCIA I Programme and its impact and results. We would also welcome project donors and partners, current or potential donors, adaptation practitioners, private sector investors, academia, AFCIA grantees, and climate innovation stakeholders.
