Given the current COVID and socio-economic crisis, there is a need to ensure that the transition to the circular economy is a just transition.

Circular economy jobs are the binding factor between environmental sustainability and a just transition.

The panel, composed of experts from UNEP (Sharon Gil), Circle Economy (Joke Dufourmont) and ICLEI (Burcu Tuncer), will introduce a method to identify and track employment in the circular economy. This “tool” identifies which economic sectors (and accompanying jobs) are best placed for a transition from linear to circular in each city.

It will be accompanied by perspective from cities in several countries, such as Mexico City, Mexico, Bogor, Indonesia, and Morocco
