Background Information
The venue of the second session of the ad hoc open-ended working group on a science-policy panel to contribute further to the sound management of chemicals and waste and to prevent pollution (OEWG-2) was changed from Dead Sea, Jordan, to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
The meeting was held on 11 – 15 December 2023. Briefings and consultations were held on 9 and 10 December 2023 at the same venue, to support the discussions at OEWG-2.
The meeting was held as an in-person meeting and conducted in the six official languages of the United Nations. The meetings of the Plenary will be live-streamed.
Participants whose registration to OEWG-2 had already been approved remain eligible to participate in the meeting. The same event pass can be used for the new venue.
Al participants should communicate any changes in their delegation list directly to the Secretariat through a Note Verbale, sent to spp-cwp@un.org.
