The breakfast meeting to kick start the Belém Yerevan Pact for Resilient Cities, Living Forests forms part of the roadmap for the creation and implementation of the Urban Canopy Pact, from the Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP30) in Belem, Brazil, to the 17th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) in Yerevan, Armenia. The Pact positions forests as the living canopy that sustains planetary resilience - uniting climate mitigation, biodiversity protection, and social well-being.

Organized by IPAM Amazônia, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, UNEP, and partners, the Canopy Pact Breakfast Meeting engages mayors, urban networks, and partners in the forest-biodiversity-climate discussion, building momentum and political visibility for the Pact in the lead-up to COP30.

Participation is by invitation only. For any questions or if you are interested in participating, please contact Jay Amstel at jay.amstel@un.org.
