2025 SEA of Solutions Forum
UNEP Regional Office for Asia Pacific (ROAP) and UNEP Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asian (COBSEA) are jointly organizing the 2025 SEA of Solutions Forum in Bangkok from 15 to 17 December 2025. This is the 6th edition of the SEA of Solutions Forum, which builds on longstanding collaboration between UNEP ROAP and UNEP COBSEA in delivering solutions on plastics and marine litter in the East Asian Seas region.

Background
The 2025 SEA of Solutions Forum aims to bring together stakeholders, including government representatives, experts, the private sector and youth, to tackle plastic pollution and marine litter. The Forum will include plenaries, thematic sessions and partnership dialogues to highlight challenges and scalable solutions.
By fostering partnerships, the Forum will accelerate regional cooperation and national action to scale up innovation and creative solutions to end plastic pollution.

UNEP ROAP has been supporting the member states through various programmes and projects since 2011. It has worked with countries in Asia-Pacific to pursue growth that catalyses the efficient use of the region’s natural assets, reduces degradation of the environment, and brings social and economic benefits to the people of the region.
UNEP COBSEA is a regional intergovernmental mechanism that was established in 1981 which brings together nine participating countries of the East Asian Seas region – Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam – in protect and sustainably managing the marine environment. In 2019, COBSEA’s 24th Intergovernmental Meeting revised and adopted the COBSEA Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter (RAP MALI).
