The Secretariat for the Special Programme is located in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Secretariat of the Special Programme delivers administrative support to the Special Programme. It facilitates the work of the Executive Board and manages the calls for applications for funding as well as providing oversight of approved projects and undertaking reporting. Katherine Theotocatos, a South African national, is the Coordinator of the Special Programme secretariat. She guides the work of the Special Programme Secretariat and takes the lead in donor relations, resource mobilization and reporting.

Felix Herzog, a Spanish and Swiss national, is the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist of the Special Programme Secretariat. He guides the work of the Special Programme in relation to monitoring and evaluation and to capturing the results of the Special Programme projects.

Eduardo Caldera-Petit, a Venezuela national, is a Programme Management Officer at the Special Programme Secretariat providing technical assistance to countries advancing chemicals and waste management and evaluating funding proposals. He also leads the Special Programme Communications Strategy, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to outreach and information dissemination.

Nicole Caesar, a Barbados and Saint Lucia national, works as Associate Programme Officer providing technical assistance and operational support the Secretariat. Her role is focused on project management, programme administration, and the development and implementation of the Special Programme Private Sector Engagement Strategy.

Pascale Unger, a French national, is the Admin Assistant of the Special Programme Secretariat.

Isabela Marchi, an Italian and Brazilian national, is the Team Assistant of the Special Programme Secretariat. Isabela supports the team with data management and contributes to the implementation of the Special Programme Communication Strategy.
