Adaptation to climate change has been identified as a top priority in regional climate change strategies and actions. However, adaptation knowledge gaps continue to be a barrier to widespread and successful adaptation actions.

The Asia and the Pacific is extremely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. In 2020, the region faced a record number of climate-related disasters coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting tens of millions of vulnerable people. The need to address climate change threats and build resilience has never been more urgent than now.

The EbA South project has been identified as a flagship initiative for South-South cooperation on climate change. A UNEP-supported project is helping to increase Djibouti's resilience to climate change. The UNEP Global Climate Litigation Report: 2020 Status Review provides an overview of the current state of climate change litigation globally, as well as an assessment of global climate change litigation trends.
