The UNEP-GEF Chemicals and Waste Portfolio works with governments, United Nations agencies, regional organizations, research institutions and civil society partners to help countries address complex chemicals and waste challenges while protecting human health and the environment.
Through technical expertise, policy support and knowledge sharing, the Portfolio helps countries strengthen the sound management of chemicals and waste, meet their commitments under multilateral environmental agreements and advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
