Our team

Jacqueline brings to this position more than 25 years of political, management, and technical expertise, including her experience of 14 years with the Government of Uruguay. She has previously served as Regional Director of the Basel and Stockholm Coordinating Centre for Latin America and the Caribbean for Capacity Building and Transfer of Technology, leading negotiations on behalf of her region on multiple occasions.

Takehiro Nakamura has been with UN Environment since 1992. He is currently Head of the UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre, which is UNEP’s global centre on environmentally sound waste management.

Felipe Dall holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, and an MSc. in Environmental economic management, both obtained in the University of Brasília, Brazil. Felipe joined UNEP in 2019, having worked for two years in the Latin America Regional Office, in Panama, and three years in the subregional office for the Southern Cone region of South America, in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Shunichi Honda joined UNEP IETC in May 2015. He has been implementing various projects, including the mercury waste projects, plastic waste projects, the Minamata Initial Assessment (MIA) project in Asia, and National and City Waste Management Strategies in collaboration with the IGES Centre Collaborating with UNEP, UNEP Sustainability Action, etc.

Michiko Ota has been supporting for the projects from the administrative perspective on Budget & Finance and HR. Michiko holds an MBA in Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University.

Junko Fujioka joined UNEP IETC in 2014, and has been supporting various projects and legal instruments. She is also the focal point for gender at UNEP IETC, working on mainstreaming gender in waste management.

Minseo Ju brings over 15 years of experience across the UN, government, and private sector. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Lei Wang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Zhejiang University and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Lei joined the environmental and sustainable development field with early experience at the Zhejiang Environmental Department Research Center (2019) and UNDP (2019–2020), later serving as a Consultant at Deloitte’s Sustainability and Climate Change team (2023–2024) and an Intern at UNEP IETC (2024–2025).

Jawoo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & Engineering from Ewha Womans University. She is interested in environmental systems and integrated approaches connecting technology and governance. Prior to joining UNEP IETC, she supported AI-related data and web platform processes at an IT company, gaining experience in digital systems and data quality management.
