Janice Sarah Morén-Golding is in the Policy and Programme Division at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In this role, she is the overall focal point for results-based management and project cycle management in UNEP and provides strategic advice to divisions, regional offices and thematic coordinators during the development and implementation of projects to deliver UNEP’s Strategic Framework and Programme of Work.
Her previous role in the UN system included serving as the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) Environment Country Head (South Africa) and Climate and Energy Policy Specialist at UNDP Headquarters in New York (Bureau for Programme and Policy Support).
She was the division lead on sustainable development and green enterprise development at the Embassy of Switzerland, Tshwane. She started her career in the Ministry of Environment, coordinating a Global Environment Facility-1 (GEF) regional programme associated with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red Data Lists (1999-2003).
Janice is a South African national. She holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute and postgraduate qualifications from the University of Cape Town and ESCP Business School (Intercultural Management). She is a certified UN practitioner in Business Operations Strategy (BOS).
