Luke Robertson

Consultant, Sustainable Finance

Biography

Luke has eight years of private sector experience, largely spent working in the capital markets as a multi-asset trader for Franklin Templeton Investments, in Edinburgh. His interest in environmental issues stems from an agricultural background and through his ongoing position as ‘Explorer-in Residence’ for the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. He has embarked on and led several expeditions, including journeys through Norway, Alaska, Greenland and Antarctica, and is passionate about highlighting to a wide audience, the effects of climate change on the communities and landscapes he has encountered. Luke’s financial sector background, alongside his first-hand experiences of this changing world, led him to his current role at UN Environment: developing projects that utilise public finance to leverage increasing amounts of private sector finance in the sustainable land use space. He holds a CFA Level I award.
