Based in New York, Matti prepares market research for UN Electric and helps to connect Sustainable UN’s experience to a more systematic inclusion of environmental dimensions in the UN’s operations and common premises. He also links UN Environment’s expertise in climate change and security to the New York work stream.
In 2016 – 2018, Matti worked as the Head of UN Environment’s Haiti Country Office, managing the Haiti portfolio of projects focused in biodiversity, green economy, waste and sustainable energy in the “Grand Sud” of Haiti.
Previously, Matti worked in UN Environment’s New York Office as the peace and security focal point for interagency collaboration on natural resource management related tools and guidance and fostering partnerships in the fields of mediation, peacekeeping and peacebuilding.
Prior to this, Matti was a natural resource specialist at the Peacebuilding Support Office in New York.
Before joining the UN, Matti worked with the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Venezuela.
