Biography

Solange Montillaud-Joyel is Information Officer and Publications Focal Point of UN Environment’s Economy Division based in Paris. She supports the deployment of various corporate campaigns (BeatPlasticPollution, CleanSeas, BreatheLife, Think.Eat.Save, etc.), in Europe and in France and she is in charge of various internal communication tools.

As Associate Programme Officer, she developed several UN Environment’s projects to foster the shift towards cleaner production and sustainable consumption patterns, including the Advertising and Communication Forum on Sustainability and the Greening Shops and Saving Costs  initiative targeted to retailers.

Since 1999, her responsibilities at UN Environment have included the preparation and co-ordination of articles, press events, TV spots, exhibitions and booths, surveys, publications. She also conceived and launched the Creative Gallery on Sustainability Communications, which highlights thousands of public and private ads related to sustainable development from all sectors and regions.

Before joining UN Environment, Solange Montillaud-Joyel was Project Manager at the Club de Bruxelles, a Brussels-based company, which organised international conferences with the European Commission, on North-South and environmental issues. 

She holds a Master in International Relations.

Expertise: 25 years of international experience in outreach activities, project coordination and management – including 20 years at UN Environment.
