TESS supports trade policies that advance environmental sustainability and implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

TESS

Launched in mid-2021, the Forum on Trade, Environment & the SDGs (TESS) TESS is a partnership of the Graduate Institute and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), housed at the Geneva Trade Platform. TESS facilitates dialogue and action to align trade and trade policy with the urgent need for global action on the intersecting crises of climate, nature and pollution, informed by the need for progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implementation of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). TESS supports the engagement of stakeholders alongside governments in its work, and works to promotes interaction between the trade, environment and sustainable development policy communities, including between Europe and the rest of the world.

In 2021, a key focus of TESS is on supporting outcomes on environment and the SDGs at the WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference. Key themes that TESS activities will address are climate action, plastic pollution, circular economy, biodiversity loss, and sustainable agriculture — all of which are key priorities in Europe and for implementation of SDGs.

Join TESS in fostering informed debates on sustainable trade, promoting high environmental ambition along with inclusive approaches that advance action on the SDGs. You can subscribe for TESS updates at: tessforum.org or follow activities on twitter @TESSforum.  TESS also invites you to help build the discussion on Trade, Environment & Sustainable Development on the Green Forum, an online platform managed by the UN’s Green Growth Knowledge Partnership.
