Paraguayan Indigenous People Institute (INDI) filed a complaint that they should be involved in every decision-making process about the project as it will affect the indigenous communities.
A series of meetings were held by IRM’s Compliance and Dispute Resolution Specialist with several stakeholders, including the complainant, the national designated authority Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES) of Paraguay and the United Nations Environment Programme in regard to the complaint.
Following these meeting rounds, INDI has been formally granted a seat in the JDP (Junta Directiva del Proyecto) or steering committee of the project.
