During 2022-2023, UNEP supported countries to sustainably manage 2,727,847 ha of ecosystems. This includes creation of 313,120 ha of protected areas, the conservation or restoration of 774,376 ha of forests, sustainable management of 746,022 ha of marine and coastal ecosystems,316,644 ha wetlands, 60 ha peatlands and 577,625 ha managed under sustainable agriculture practices.
