The Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute and the Cartagena Convention Secretariat are co-hosts of the Caribbean Node of the Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML-Caribe). The 75th Annual Meeting of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI 75) will be held in Fort Walton Beach, FL from 7th – 11th November 2022 at The Island Hotel. GCFI is partnering with the Okaloosa County, the Destin – Fort Walton Beach Convention Center and Visitor Bureau to host GCFI75.

The GEF CReW+ Project, represented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), will launch (in-person) its Compendium of Sanitation Technologies on Tuesday 11th October 2022. The soft launch of the compendium was held virtually in June 2022. The launch will be part of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance's (SuSanA) afternoon session on “Tecnologías y Herramientas de Saneamiento” (sanitation technologies and tools) at 4:30 p.m. GMT-5.

The IWC objectives are to facilitate cross-sectoral and GEF IW Portfolio-wide learning and experience sharing. They strive to solicit advice from the existing GEF IW Portfolio on burning issues and to assist in building participant capacity in key management and technical areas. Participants sum up progress achieved and look to the future of programming within and beyond the GEF IW Focal Area.
