A series of informal consultations led to the choice by consensus by the UNEA bureau for the theme for UNEA-7, announced on the 12 December 2024 by the UNEA-7 President.
The preparations for the Ministerial Declarations have been initiated by the UNEA-7 President.
Additionally, UNEP's mid-term strategy (MTS) for the period 2026-2029 is currently being developed and will be approved during UNEA-7.
Consultations will happen in the regions, both for Member States and Civil Society.
