UNEA-7 is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all participants.
During UNEA-7
Venue
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) has accessible routes, ramps and wheelchair-friendly entrances across the complex. Maps showing accessible routes are available on the event website, mobile app and most information points throughout the venue.
Transport on campus
Vehicles and shuttle services will operate on campus for participants who requested vehicular assistance in the registration form. Accessible drop-off points will be provided where feasible.
Meeting rooms and seating
Wheelchair-accessible seating will be arranged to ensure participants using mobility aids can sit with their delegations and support persons. Staff at the complex will also assist with wayfinding and seating adjustments.
Hearing and communications support
Real-time captioning in English will be provided, on the screens inside the Conference Room, for official plenary meetings of UNEA and during the National Statements sessions. In addition, closed captions will be available (in English) on all recorded UN Web TV streaming videos. Please note that the UN Web TV closed captions are auto-generated and may contain errors.
Induction/hearing loops are installed in outdoor meeting pods, look for the icon below for more information on how to use them.

Lactation room
A lactation room is available behind Conference Room 1. To access it, please visit the information desk to collect a lactation room badge.
Accommodation and hotels
The list of recommended accommodation includes information on accessible hotels and guest houses.
Important notes
This page is an overview, not a full guide. Reasonable accommodation is arranged after you register and is subject to advance notice, technical capacity and availability.
Participants are encouraged to:
• Indicate accessibility needs as early as possible in the Accessibility section of the registration form to allow timely arrangements.
• Register any accompanying support person and include their name and contact details.
For any additional questions or follow up on accessibility, please contact: unep-sgb@un.org
Before coming to UNEA-7
If you have accessibility requirements, please complete the Accessibility section of the registration form on Indico so we can arrange support in advance.
Registration
The Accessibility section in the registration form on Indico includes brief questions to enable organizers to arrange appropriate support prior to arrival:
• Whether the participant requires accessibility support and whether a support person will accompany them (please provide the support person’s name if applicable).
• A contact number (including country code) for use while on site, and any specific accessibility requirements (for example: wheelchair access, accessible seating, assistance in finding meeting rooms or on-campus transport).
Look for the universal counter at the registration pavilion for more information.
