• Overview

This conference is co-organised by the Ministry of Environment of Chile and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It aims to showcase the results of the UNEP project Support Chile in meeting climate change commitments through the Law: Development and Amendment of National Regulations for the Implementation of Framework Law No. 21.455”, funded by the NDC Partnership Action Fund (PAF).

Date: Wednesday, 30 July 2025

Time: 9:00 AM (GMT-4)

Venue: Hotel Diego de Velázquez, Guardia Vieja 150, Providencia, Santiago de Chile

The event will highlight the legislative and regulatory instruments developed through the project to support the effective implementation of Chile’s Framework Law on Climate Change. It will also serve as a platform for dialogue among key stakeholders on experiences, challenges, and opportunities in advancing the climate agenda at both national and subnational levels.

Ultimately, the conference aims to strengthen stakeholders’ understanding - including government institutions responsible for implementing climate change regulations at the national, regional and local levels (e.g., Members of the Interministerial Technical Team on Climate Change (ETICC), Regional Ministerial Authorities (SEREMIs), Representatives of Regional governments, municipal representatives), Academia, and Civil Society Organizations - of the legal and institutional frameworks shaping climate governance in Chile.
