WCEF presentation

Did you know that by designing out waste, avoiding pollution and keeping materials in use as long as possible, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 20%? On 15 and 16 April 2021, the Netherlands and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra will welcome representatives of governments, international organisations, knowledge institutes, the private sector, and citizens from around the globe to our virtual conference platform to digitally meet up and discuss the crucial role of a circular economy in achieving climate neutrality.

WCEF+Climate encourages these entities to take the next bold step towards a circular economy by issuing a commitment to be included in the WCEF+Climate Action Statement, the outcome document of the conference.

WCEF+Climate is the opportunity to join other leaders in paving the way for bold steps towards a circular economy by 2050, a necessity for climate neutrality. And you can join the discussion in the virtual conference venue built on the latest creative thinking on how to provide the full conference experience in a digital fashion: networking and interaction will remain a major component!

Speakers of WCEF+Climate include among others: Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG), Inger Andersen, UNEP Executive Director, Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator, and Frans van Houten, CEO of Royal Philips and Chair of the Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy (PACE)
