When: 26 to 30 July 2021 (online segment), and tentatively in June 2022 (face-to-face segment)

Where: Online and in Geneva, Switzerland (venue to be confirmed)

In accordance with the agreement by the bureaux of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions, taking into account the exceptional circumstances of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, 2021 meetings of the conferences of the Parties will beheld in two segments. An online segment of the meetings will be held over 5 days from 26 to 30 July 2021, and a face-to-face segment of the meetings tentatively scheduled to be held over two weeks in June 2022, in Geneva.

The theme of the 2021 meetings will be "Global Agreements for a Healthy Planet: Sound management of chemicals and waste."

The first and last days of the online segment of the joint meetings in July 2021 will feature interpretation in the six official languages of the United Nations, while interpretation will be available over the two weeks of the face-to-face segment of the meetings in 2022.
