This side event, hosted by Ghana and the Food is Never Waste Coalition, showcased how reducing food loss and waste (FLW) serves as a powerful lever for food systems transformation. It highlighted how countries are integrating FLW into their national pathways and broader strategies on agriculture, food security, climate, and development. The session emphasized the multiple benefits of FLW reduction — from climate mitigation and food security to economic gains — and explored how to scale action through financing mechanisms and multi-stakeholder partnerships. Aligned with SDG 12.3, the event engaged governments, UNFSS national convenors, and key partners to accelerate progress and impact.

Breaking Silos and fueling change: Aligning Nutrition and Climate for Food System Transformation
Organized by the Government of Madagascar, with co-hosts HDSFS Coalition, ICAN, and the SUN Movement, the side event, "Breaking Silos and Fueling Change: Aligning Nutrition and Climate for Food System Transformation", highlighted successful country-led initiatives, explored challenges in aligning climate and nutrition agendas, and fostered collaboration across sectors. The format included a keynote, a high-level government panel, rapid-fire presentations from key coalitions, and an interactive discussion, identifying priority actions for COP 30 and strengthening support for sustainable food systems.

Ministerial Roundtable: Navigating transitions to inclusive, resilient, healthy and sustainable food systems
This Ministerial Dialogue convened high-level leaders to assess progress and challenges in transforming food systems to align with national priorities and the SDGs. It highlighted recent evidence on the hidden costs of current systems and showcased country experiences in implementing legal and policy frameworks for sustainable, inclusive, and nutritious food systems. Discussions explored how integrated policies, trade, private sector action, and civil society engagement can drive co-benefits across health, environment, and economic outcomes. The session supported the UNFSS+4 by fostering collaboration and policy convergence to accelerate food systems transformation.

Business/Towards Greater Corporate Accountability
This session highlighted the critical role of corporate transparency and accountability in driving sustainable food systems. It brought together governments, businesses, standard-setters, and civil society to showcase progress, share challenges, and explore what effective corporate accountability looks like. The discussion focused on how companies can be supported and incentivized to lead on health, environmental, and social outcomes across their supply chains. The session built consensus on key metrics and data needed to track corporate impact and support policy and investment decisions aligned with the goals of UNFSS+4.

High-level Panel: Mobilizing High-Impact Climate Finance
This session explored how to significantly increase climate finance for agrifood systems, which are vital for food security yet remain underfunded despite their high mitigation potential. Bringing together governments, financial institutions, farmers, and private sector leaders, the dialogue focused on innovative financing mechanisms — including blended finance, guarantees, and ecosystem service payments — to support smallholders and scale sustainable investments. It aligned public and private finance with climate and development goals, linking key outcomes from FfD4, COP28, and the upcoming COP30. The session supported the UNFSS+4 agenda by promoting inclusive, climate-resilient food systems that advance zero hunger and environmental sustainability.

Country Presentation Session: Cameroon's Investment Dialogue
Cameroon presented a 60-minute investment pitch at the UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 on Tuesday, 29 July from 3:30–4:30 PM. The session showcased strategic investment opportunities and attracted funding and partnerships from public and private investors. H.E. Gabriel Mbairobe was encouraged to lead the delegation. The UN Country Team, led by the Resident Coordinator, stood ready to support preparation efforts. Additionally, a dedicated event app was available to help delegations connect with investors and schedule bilateral meetings.
