To reverse land degradation trends in the Gran Chaco through supporting sustainable land management in the productive landscape.

The development objective is to contribute to the effective protection and sustainable use of the water and land resources of the Amazon Basin, based upon the principles of integrated water resources management (IWRM), and manage the effects of climate change (CC) within Amazonian communities in a coordinated and coherent way. This will be accomplished by the eight signatory countries of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty, within the framework of the ACTO, through a program of strategic interventions. Project’s specific objective is to elaborate a Strategic Action Program (SAP) for the Amazon Basin and create the necessary enabling social-economic environment for the future implementation of the SAP, inclusive of strategic measures relating to adaptation by the countries to the effects of global climate change on the Basin.

The Projects development objective is to accelerate the development and utilization of geothermal resources in the Rift Valley as a pathway to low carbon development in the region. The Program’s global objective is to facilitate reduction of the growth rate of GHG emissions in the region through geothermal energy development to produce electricity.

This project is designed to establish a dedicated financial facility for energy efficiency and renewable energy in Eastern Europe and CIS that can serve as a vehicle for the large-scale participation of private sector investors in partnership with public entities. The proposal is to support the development of a US$ 250 million public-private equity Fund that will be able to complement other funding schemes (including those implemented or contemplated by the GEF and/or other supporting institutions) and, as a result, leverage an investment volume of upt to US$ 2 billion for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The project is being implemented as an interim capacity-building activity between the Initial and the Second Communications. Hence it is intended to complement activities of the Phase 1 project, related to the Initial Communication, while at the same time forming basis for initiation of the Second National Communication to the UNFCCC.

The programme’s overall goal is to provide an integrated package of flexible support activities to facilitate implementation of enabling activities. By doing so, it will assist countries in promoting integration of climate change policy into countries’ national development priorities, on the basis of national needs and priorities. The programme emphasises capacity building, knowledge sharing and monitoring of programme progress.

The project aims to support four countries–Azerbaijan, Iraq, Liberia, and Malawi–to each prepare and submit Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and combined Biennial Transparency Report / National Communications (BTR/NCs) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement reporting requirements, while responding to national development goals.

The project aims to support four countries–Ghana, Kenya, Solomon Islands, and South Africa–to each prepare and submit Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and combined Biennial Transparency Report / National Communications (BTR/NCs) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement (PA) reporting requirements, while responding to national development goals.

The project aims to support four countries–Ecuador, Maldives, Rwanda, and Uganda–to prepare and submit Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and combined Biennial Transparency Report / National Communications (BTR/NCs) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement (PA) reporting requirements, while responding to national development goals.

The project aims to support four countries: - Burundi, CAR, Côte d’Ivoire, and Turkmenistan to each prepare and submit Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and combined Biennial Transparency Report / National Communication (BTR/NCs) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement (PA) reporting requirements, while responding to national development goals.

The project aims to support four countries: - Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Niger, Tuvalu to prepare and submit Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and combined Biennial Transparency Report / National Communication (BTR/NCs) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement (PA) reporting requirements, while responding to national development goals.

The objective of the proposed project is to accelerate the process of establishing a labelling scheme for low rise homes in the short term and show case benefits of energy efficient buildings to ?build energy efficient green homes and address the greenhouse emission reduction goal of Thailand and enhance the comfort and living space for low and middle income populations living in low rise housing units.
