We work with partner countries at both the political and technical levels.
At the political level, the NDC Action Project is, in most cases, anchored in the Ministries of Environment, with a focal person in a department responsible for climate change and NDC policy, planning and project development.
At the technical level, we contract a local non-profit NGO or academic institution to act as the ‘National Technical Institute’ (NTI) to drive forward the local stakeholder consultations, techno-economic analysis and drafting of partnership and investment concept notes. Regular meetings are held between the Ministries, NTIs and UNEP to ensure that the project remains politically relevant and on-track.
