The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Senegal, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is organizing a Joint Network Meeting of African National Ozone Officers, held back-to-back with a Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Workshop, from 22–26 September 2025 in Dakar, Senegal.
This meeting is organized by the Africa Francophone Network of UNEP Environment Law Division's OzonAction.It is part of the Regional Network service OzonAction's Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) provides to Article 5 (developing) countries as part of its role as an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
The meeting is part of the activities of UNEP OzonAction's Montreal Protocol Network for Europe and Central Asia (ECA network). English Russian simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Participants will include staff from the national Montreal Protocol Units (MPUs), Customs and Enforcement Officers, Environmental Inspectors, representatives of implementing agencies, and regional partners.

This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about available CCAC resources and funding opportunities and to review the outcomes of the Ozone Secretariat's workshop on the same topic, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand, in October 2024.
At this Network Meeting, UNEP will support Latin American countries with their HFCs phase-down and HCFC phase-out targets in 2024 and 2025 respectively. The Meeting will focus on data reporting, policy frameworks, progress in the implementation of the HPMPs and KIPs, as well as in the challenges faced by the countries in the region with the compliance targets for HCFCs and HFCs and exploring strategies to address them.
The primary objective of this joint meeting is to enhance cooperation and facilitate the sharing of experiences between Montreal Protocol Officers from the ECA and WA networks.
UNEP through its Caribbean Network, is planning to hold the 2025 Thematic Network Meeting of National Ozone Officers of the Caribbean Network and Haiti back-to-back with Grenada’s Sustainable Cooling Exhibition from 16 - 18 June 2025, taking place in St. George’s Grenada.
The meeting is part of the activities of UNEP OzonAction's Montreal Protocol Network for Europe and Central Asia (ECA network). English-Russian simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Participants will include staff from the national Montreal Protocol Units (MPUs), refrigeration experts, RACHP equipment manufacturers, representatives of implementing agencies, regional partners, and multinational companies.
