In Uganda’s tourism sector, the networking facility aims to nurture green tourism through the promotion of eco-tourism (including through eco-labelling) and awareness-raising and knowledge-sharing in connection with sustainable consumption and production practices in the industry. In the agriculture and manufacturing sectors, the focus is on awareness-raising and knowledge-sharing among consumers and producers on the opportunities and challenges of adopting green business practices and on their economic, social and environmental benefits. The facility also seeks to support the sharing of best practices between countries and to train national stakeholders, including women and young people, in the basic principles of sustainable consumption and production.

Thus, the networking facility offers activities that allow stakeholders in the country to communicate and share experiences and best practices and allows for the knowledge gained from project implementation to be distilled for application in upscaling and replication and the relevant policies to be taken up by a wide range of government actors.
