Regional networks and initiatives

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) supports global and regional movements to safeguard clean air for all with a focus on air quality, climate, and health nexus.

Regional efforts to address air pollution have intensified aimied at achieving regional harmonization of policies, best practices and knowledge-sharing.

To support these efforts, UNEP promotes air quality and health action in the work of the UN at country level – particularly in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks. UNEP encourages collaboration, sharing of expertise and experiences, regional networks, platforms, frameworks and communities of practice.
