Activities

EANET's main activities focus on the monitoring and control of data, capacity building and awareness-raising.

 

Monitoring, evaluation and quality control:

Acid deposition monitoring

  • Review and revision/establishment of the national monitoring plans.
  • Implementation of monitoring of wet deposition, dry deposition, soil/vegetation, inland aquatic environment

Compilation, evaluation, storage and provision of data

  • Submission of monitoring data to the Network Center
  • Publication of annual data reports
  • Preparation and publication of periodic reports on the state of acid deposition
  • Dissemination of relevant information through EANET website

Promotion of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities

  • Development of QA/QC programs
  • Development of Standard Operational Procedures
  • Implementation of Inter-laboratory comparison projects

 

Technical support, research and capacity building:

Implementation of technical support and capacity building activities

  • Dispatch of technical missions
  • Identification of training needs
  • Individual training at the Network Center
  • National training
  • Utilization of existing training programs
  • Implementation of cooperation programs and dispatch of experts.

Promotion of research and studies related to acid deposition problems

  • Joint research programs
  • EANET Research Fellowship Program

 

Awareness raising:

  • Development of brochures, videos, workshops on public awareness, e-Learning activities

 

Cooperation and information exchanges:

  • Cooperation and exchange of information and experiences with other regional and global networks/initiatives.
