To assist the Government of South Africa in the development of its National Action Plan for the Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector, raise awareness on the Minamata Convention, and to build al national capacity for the early implementation of the National Action Plan and the Minamata Convention

To enhance the conservation of key species in Mauritania through the creation and sustainable management of a new Protected Area in the arid Wilaya of Adrar.

To develop, strengthen and implement a national biosecurity framework to detect, control and effectively manage biological invasions/introductions in Ethiopia

To enhance resilience of local livelihoods and ecosystems, with a focus on gender equity, in coastal zones of Madagascar to the adverse impacts of climate change

The project aims to support eight (8) countries to prepare and submit Initial Biennial Transparency Reports (BTR1s) and combined Third National Communication/BTR1s (NC3/BTR1s) that will comply with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement reporting requirements, while responding to its national development goals.

Project Objective: To promote a Wildlife Economy approach that benefits people and strengthens wildlife management in the CAMPFIRE areas in Tsholotsho District.

Foster multi-country cooperation and to enhance institutional capacity for the protection and sustainable management of the transboundary Senegalo-Mauritanian aquifer system and its dependent ecosystems in order to improve water and food security, and resilience to climate change.

Reduce the use and prevalence of harmful agrochemicals by supporting farmers to access finance, innovative practices, and markets required to incentivize sustainable practices.

To prevent the build-up of materials and chemicals in the environment that contain POPs and Mercury and other harmful chemicals in SIDS, and to manage and dispose of existing harmful chemicals and materials in SIDS

The project seeks to strengthen institutional, infrastructural, human & regulatory biosafety capacities of the Governments of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Madagascar and Namibia in the implementation of NBFs in support of the CPB and (its) Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability & Redress.

i) Provide technical support for developing ABS policy, legal, institutional and regulatory frameworks for The Gambia; (ii) Undertake to pilot of administrative or policy measures to implement community protocols, bioprospecting, and/or biotechnology research; and (iii) Promote ABS-compliant management of protected areas that support improvements in the conditions of biological and genetic resources for the Nyambai Forest Complex.
