The Global Mercury Partnership Area on Mercury Releases from Coal Combustion, the Secretariat of the Minamata Convention and the International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant co-organized a webinar on “Mercury emissions from coal” as part of Minamata Online Sessions Season 2, on Wednesday 17 November 2021.

The event focused on Article 8 of the Minamata Convention and the challenges of evaluating and reducing emissions from utilities and industry. It highlighted the importance of data to inform policy decisions, and featured recent work in Indonesia demonstrating how relatively simple data analyses can inform effective mercury reduction strategy at the national level.
