The 17th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) will take place in Hyberabad, India, from 4 to 9 October 2026.

This year theme is "Reaching Ten Years of Enforcement of the Minamata Convention: Achievements, Challenges and Road Map for the Future".

The sixth meeting of the Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products project stakeholders group will take place online on Monday 15 June, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm CET.

The side event will take place on Friday 5 June 2026, from 13h30 to 14h30 in the Zircon room as part of the Eigth Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The Mercury Waste Management Area of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership held its annual meeting on 13 March 2026, in an online setting.

The meeting was be the occasion to share updates on key highlights on the implementation of ongoing activities of the WMA.

Within the framework of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) project on dental amalgam, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) organised a regional workshop in Montevideo on March 4 and 5, 2026.

The Waste Management Area (WMA) of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership (GMP) organised an online webinar on Tuesday 27 January 2026.

The event highlighted new entries to the “Catalogue of Technologies and Services on Mercury Waste Management.”

As part of the Sixth Conference of the Parties (COP6) of the Minamata Convention together with the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions Secretariat (BRS Secretariat) are organising an event on Friday 7 November from 14:00 to 14:45 at the Centre International de Conference, Geneva, Switzerland.
