Article 11 of the Minamata Convention on mercury require parties to take appropriate measures so that mercury waste is managed in an environmentally sound manner. Recognizing that there are only a limited number of facilities capable of treating mercury wastes in an environmentally sound manner even at the international level, this document intends to provide information of technologies, products and services related to mercury wastes management owned by partners of the Waste Management Area (WMA) of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership.
The overall goal of the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership is to protect human health and the environment from the releases of mercury.
