The use of skin fairness products that frequently contain toxic ingredients is associated with significant adverse health side effects. Due to the high prevalence of use in Asian and African countries, skin fairness product use is recognized as a growing public health concern.

Collecting field data is often necessary to prepare the national Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector overview. The United Nations Institute for Training and Research(UNITAR) has developed a mobile data collection tool to accompany the two methodologies developed by the Artisanal Gold Council (baseline estimates) and UNITAR (socio-economic research methodology).

Quick start guide to preparing an Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining National Action Plan to fulfill obligations under Article 7 of the Minamata Convention on Mercury

This report presents national information on coal types and coal usage, characterizes the coal-fired power sector in Indonesia and develops an emission inventory for the coal fired energy sector as well as presents other relevant information to improve accuracy of future emission inventories.

This guide provides a simplified list of steps governments may take in preparing to undertake the Convention Article 4 obligations. It is intended to facilitate the implementation of the legal, institutional, and practical components of a mercury product phase out strategy, including those that may be performed as part of Minamata Initial Assessments (MIAs).
